Bryan Smith, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, has been appointed a 2023-2024 Class of White House Fellow. Founded in 1964, the White House Fellows program offers exceptional young leaders first-hand experience working at the highest levels of the Federal government. Fellows spend a year working with senior White House Staff, Cabinet Secretaries, and other top-ranking Administration officials, and leave the Administration equipped to serve as better leaders in their communities. James Ahn, MD Recognized by ACEP with a National Emergency Medicine Faculty Teaching Award

James Ahn, MD has been recognized by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) with a National Emergency Medicine Faculty Teaching Award. Bestowed annually since 1999, this award recognizes educational excellence by mid-career ACEP members. Unique to this award, nominations must be endorsed by both a superior and from previous or current learners. Dr. Ahn will be recognized at the ACEP Awards Gala this year at the ACEP23 Scientific Assembly in Philadelphia, PA during the second week of October.

Krysta Wolfe, MD Named UCM Health System Sepsis Quality Director

Krysta Wolfe, MD, Assistant Professor in the Section of Pulmonary and Critical Care has been named as UCM Health System’s Sepsis Quality Director effective July 1, 2023. As the Sepsis Quality Director Dr. Wolfe will serve as the Sepsis Lead/champion for projects and initiatives related to improving patient quality (best in class outcomes) and safety (eliminating harm) for patients with or suspected of having/developing the clinical condition of sepsis. Renea Jablonski, MD Named Medical Director of UCM Lung Transplant Program

Dr. Renea Jablonski, Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine has been named as Medical Director of the Lung Transplant Program. Dr. Jablonski has most recently served with great distinction as Interim Medical Director for the Lung Transplant program at the University of Chicago during a period of critical transition.
