Renea Jablonski, MD Named Medical Director of UCM Lung Transplant Program

Dr. Renea Jablonski, Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine has been named as Medical Director of the Lung Transplant Program.

Dr. Jablonski has most recently served with great distinction as Interim Medical Director for the Lung Transplant program at the University of Chicago during a period of critical transition. Dr. Jablonski received her medical degree from University of Washington and completed her residency at the University of California San Diego, and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at McGaw Medical Center at Northwestern University, where she was also Chief Fellow.

Dr. Jablonski holds memberships with American College of Chest Physicians, American Society of Transplantation, International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, and the American Thoracic Society, from which she has received numerous abstract scholarships. In addition, Dr. Jablonksi was recently awarded the Overall Excellence in New Member of the Faculty award from the University of Chicago Department of Medicine. Dr. Jablonski has a plethora of publications in CHEST, Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, European Respiratory Journal and the American Journal of Physiology-Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology. In addition, she is a highly sought-after speaker with particular emphasis on interstitial lung disease and lung transplantation. Her scholarly contributions in addition to her contributions to graduate medical education, serving as a research mentor, clinical research funding and her clinical expertise make her an ideal Medical Director.
