2021 Janet Rowley Research Day – Call for Posters – Deadline 2/1/2021

The Department of Medicine’s 2021 Janet D. Rowley Research Day will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.   Due to continued uncertainty regarding the COVID pandemic, the entire event will be held virtually. This year’s key note speaker will be Nobel Laureate, Gregg Semenza, MD, PhD, the C. Michael Armstrong Professor of Genetic Medicine, Pediatrics, Oncology, Medicine, Radiation Oncology and Biological Chemistry, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine & Director, Vascular Program, Johns Hopkins Institute for Cell Engineering.  Dr. Semenza’s talk will take place at Medicine Grand Rounds at noon via Zoom.

The annual poster session will be held using a virtual platform called ePosterLive. All clinical and research fellows, postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty (Instructors, Assistant Professors, Research Assistant Professor and graduate students  (non-medical students) are invited to submit an e-poster (not an abstract) no later than  Monday, February 1, 2021.   The poster submission site is now open at this link: https://med-spportal01.bsd.uchicago.edu/ResearchDay2021/Upload.aspx.

Posters must be uploaded in PDF format only.  We are also requesting that you provide 4 or 5 keywords  so that we may cluster posters together for live moderated poster sessions.

Posters will be considered for the following categories:

  • Basic Science Research
  • Clinical Research
  • Translational Research
  • Health Services, Medical Education, Social Sciences

New this year will be the ability to view all posters on line a few days before and after Research Day. Faculty and trainee awards for best poster in each category will be announced on March 9. Trainee abstract winners will present following Dr. Semenza’s talk.
