The University of Chicago’s Department of Medicine offers an internal medicine training program designed to encourage science and humanity in the practice of medicine. Our program will help you achieve a mastery of clinical medicine and will start you on your path toward a rewarding future career. We offer a balanced choice of disciplines, ranging from primary care to subspecialty medicine. Dermatology

The Dermatology Residency Training Program at the University of Chicago, under the direction of Dr. Sarah Stein, Associate Professor of Medicine, is dedicated to providing the prospective dermatologist a diverse and stimulating clinical experience. The program strives to enhance the overall profession of dermatology by encouraging graduates to devote a large part of their careers to dermatology, to apply their knowledge compassionately and ethically, and to contribute their work to the field’s scientific foundations.

Emergency Medicine

Founded in 1972, the University of Chicago Emergency Medicine Residency is one of the country’s oldest training programs. Throughout its history, the residency program has been committed to excellence in clinical care and teaching and to the development of future educators and leaders in the field of emergency medicine. Program alumni have distinguished themselves by achieving leadership roles in the academic, teaching, political, and practice arenas of emergency medicine.

Our mission is to train leaders and innovators in practice, administration, research and education. Since 1983, half of our over 50 graduates have pursued general Med-Peds careers {primary care, academic (5 program directors), and hospitalist} and half pursued sub-specialties (Medicine, Pediatrics or Med-Peds).
