How to Apply

The program is a PGY 2-4 training program that participates in The Match sponsored by the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) and adheres to all of its rules and regulations, including its deadlines. Information concerning the Match system, its requirements and deadlines can be obtained from your medical school.

Our faculty committee reviews applications through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). The application deadline for our program is October 15, 2018.  Our Education Coordinator will contact applicants selected for further considerations by mid-November, 2018 and will arrange for an onsite interview and visit.  Currently, the dermatology residency interview dates are scheduled for December 18, 2018 and December 19, 2018.  The visit includes an applicant social gathering, interviews with faculty, and facility tours hosted by current dermatology residents.

Our program participates with the University of Chicago Internal Medicine Residency Program in a Joint Advanced/Preliminary program through NRMP. Matching into this track enables the individual to complete an internship year in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Chicago Medicine, followed by a traditional 3-year Dermatology Residency at UCM.  This is NOT a Medicine/Dermatology training program. Those completing the joint track are eligible to sit for the dermatology board exam, but NOT the IM board exam. A separate interview for the IM internship position is not required.
