The Section of Rheumatology at The University of Chicago has an excellent
fellowship program. We are fortunate to have outstanding clinicians
of local and national renown, multiple active clinical research programs,
a very active clinic population, as well as very strong basic and translational
research opportunities.
The Fellowship Program in Rheumatology is designed to ensure that physicians
are clinically proficient in the field of rheumatology and are educated
in the design and execution of clinical and/or basic research and have
experience in conducting such research. While participants in our program
will complete the required ACGME training for Rheumatology in two years,
most candidates will stay on for a non-ACGME certified third year to
develop the experience and skills necessary to pursue a successful academic
career in Rheumatology. Our program focuses on the special needs of
individuals interested in academic Rheumatology, whether in clinical,
translational or basic domains.
