Department of Medicine

The Pulmonary and Critical Care Clinical Fellowship Training Program at The University of Chicago is one of the most highly regarded training programs in the country. Our fellows are drawn from the best internal medicine training programs of North America and Europe. We receive more than 200 applications yearly and invite about 50 residents to interview for 4 available positions. The large number of applications received allows us to select a highly qualified and diversified group of fellows.

Our goal is to train the next generation of leaders in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Our commitment is to outstanding clinical care, to mentoring and teaching, and to superb investigation in clinical and basic sciences. Our program offers unique opportunities for young physicians to develop a career in academic medicine that is tailored to their diverse interests. Graduating fellows typically join the faculty of competitive medical schools as physician-scientists, clinical scholars and clinician-teachers.
