The GLS is designed as a fellow's educational conference and meets once a week. Guest speakers are typically invited to present updated medical information on a variety of topics. This is also an opportunity for fellows to present a Geriatric related topic of their interest.

All fellows participate in summer intensive course that provide didactic instruction and discussion groups on a variety of topics including:

• Historical Perspective Course: Fellows have the opportunity to review and discuss classic groundbreaking papers in Geriatrics.
• Geriatrics Syndromes Course
• Summer Seminar in Health Services Research
• Little Red School House, a writing course

The Journal Club meets once a month. Fellows present a recent article on Geriatric related topics.

Several national Geriatrics related conferences are offered as part of the teaching program. Among the most valued in the American Geriatrics Society (AGS), Gerontological Society of America (GSA), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
