"Innate Immunity of the GI tract and Relevance to Human Disease”

The purpose of this meeting is: (1) feature the opinions and studies of invited experts in the field, and (2) to familiarize participants with new approaches and experimental models for investigations in this area, and (3) to promote discussion and interactions that will lead to productive collaborations We will be featuring three invited guests: Dr. Andre Ouellette from University of California, Irvine will speak on the role of bacteria in promoting intestinal health and disease. Dr. Philippe Sansonetti from the Louis Pasteur Institute will speak on the application of molecular approaches to the study of enteric microorganisms. Finally, Dr. Yasmine Belkaid from the National Institutes of Health will speak on intestinal signaling pathways affecting Pseudomonas virulence. We hope you can join us and participate in the discussion. We particularly would like to encourage trainees or junior faculty to attend the program, as they may find the interaction and discussion beneficial to their interests and investigations.

"12th Annual University of Chicago IBD Work in Progress Research Retreat”

Retreat will be focused on clinical and translational research. Our featured guests will be Dr. Nick Davidson from Washington University – St. Louis and Dr. Bruce Sands from Massachusetts General Hospital. Each will give a state-of-the-art talk relating to digestive physiology and the and treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases. The remainder of the meeting will include both abstract-driven and invited speakers.
