The Bucksbaum Institute for Clinical Excellence and the Office of Faculty Affairs are pleased to announce the sponsorship of Schwartz Rounds at UChicago Medicine. The Schwartz Center was founded in 1995 and supports the Schwartz Rounds program in hundreds of organizations in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
The Schwartz Rounds program is a panel and facilitated discussion session that focuses on:
- strengthening the caregiver-patient relationship;
- supporting improved teamwork and interdisciplinary communication;
- decreasing feelings of stress and isolation; and
- providing increased insights that allow for compassionate care of patients and responsiveness to the needs of patients and families.
