Several important conferences are offered as part of the teaching program. Each fellow is expected to participate fully in:

• Hematology/Oncology core curriculum lecture series.
• The weekly hematology/oncology conference. This will often include didactic mini-lectures presented by fellows. There is full attendance by the faculty and trainees.
• Weekly medical grand rounds
• Monthly journal club
• Monthly clinical research conference where ongoing clinical trials within each research program are presented.
• Interdisciplinary protocol conferences relating to the organ system clinic in which the fellow is currently participating (e.g. bone marrow transplant, chest oncology, GU).
• The bi-weekly Friday research seminars. This is the forum for presentation of ongoing basic science research in the section.

Each fellow is expected to participate in the research seminar series and conferences which are offered to enhance the educational opportunities and academic development of the fellow.
