Richard Schilsky,MD- Awarded Pinedo Cancer Care Prize

Richard Schilsky, MD, Professor of Medicine and Chief, Section of Hematology/Oncology ,has been selected as the 2012 recipient of the Pinedo Cancer Care Prize by the Society for Translational Oncology. The Pinedo Cancer Care Prize was established to honor the career of Professor Bob Pinedo in cancer research and compassionate cancer patient care. Throughout his distinguished career Professor Pinedo has been a champion of patient care and a pioneer in the development of novel cancer therapeutics. The Pinedo Prize was created to reward those gifted and dedicated physician scientists who reflect the Pinedo motif and also inspire other to emulate his legacy. Dr. Schilsky will receive this award and present the Pinedo Award Lecture at the 3rd Annual Meeting of the Society of Translational Oncology in October 2012.
